how have you done it? i have a friend i told about FWF and promised to invite her. do i just zip her an email with the link? don't you have to have a reference? do i tell her to just use me as a reference?

Not on this board, we're an open site. She just has to sign up to see anything! I'd only invite people you know and trust because of the desire for privacy regarding financial issues, though.

oh, and I wouldn't use a PM function for another site. That's led to bannings elsewhere and it's considered spamming.

Thank you for making those clarifications, Jen. :)

thanks for the info. i don't think inviting her will be an ethical issue as i know her from a fitness board and i invited her in real life this weekend when i had lunch with her.
and yes i'm not just inviting anyone to witness my financial struggles here. heck, i'm not even inviting my family members . . .

I would love to invite my sister, Maryann; what do I do.
Oh, yeah, you will all love her. What a great sense of humor!

I think you just give her the URL and she signs up.

Yes if it is someone you know just give her the link to sign up. We just want to make sure we aren't stepping on any toes and "spamming" other websites/members by doing this through PM's unsolicitied. :)
Clear as mud?
